Common questions

Where are my columns and saved stories kept? On your own device. Newsdeck has no accounts, so nothing is kept for you on our side. To move your setup to another device, use Settings > Export setup, then Import setup on the other device.

A column shows an error or no stories. The publisher's feed may be down or may have moved. Pull down on the column, or tap its refresh button, to try again. If it keeps failing, open the column's settings to replace or remove that source.

A feed I added will not load in the app. iPhone apps can only use secure (https) addresses. If a publisher only offers an unsecured (http) feed, look for a secure version on the same publisher's site.

What does "Readable offline" mean? In the app, saved stories are kept as a text-only copy on your phone, so you can read them without a connection. If a copy could not be made, the story shows "Online only" or offers "Try again".

How do I stop the anonymous usage count? Untick "Include this device in Newsdeck's anonymous usage count" in Settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Who writes the news? The publishers. Newsdeck shows their headlines and summaries and links to their sites; it does not write, edit or endorse them.
