For publishers

How Newsdeck shows your stories, and how to reach us. Last updated 11 October 2026.

What readers see

Newsdeck is a news reader. It reads the public feeds (RSS and Atom) that publishers offer and shows, for each story: the headline, your publication's name, the time, at most a short excerpt (about 90 characters, two lines) from the summary in your feed, and the picture your feed includes. Readers can choose headlines only.

Every story links to your own page. Tapping it opens your site: in a browser tab on the website, and in Apple's Safari view in the iPhone app. Newsdeck does not keep or show copies of whole articles.

How feeds are read

On the website, every feed, including one a reader adds personally, is requested through Newsdeck's feed service, which keeps short-lived copies of public feeds so your server is not asked again for every reader. The addresses of feeds readers add themselves are not stored in our records or shown publicly. In the iPhone app, each phone requests the feeds itself. A few suggested feeds may be fetched through Newsdeck's service when their secure address fails. Feeds a reader adds personally are only ever requested by that phone.

Newsdeck suggests a starting list of feeds. Readers can remove any of them and add their own.

Removing or changing a feed

If you would like your feed removed from Newsdeck's suggested list, shown differently, or credited differently, email us with the feed's address. We act on requests within 2 business days.

Email support@oppwise.com

If your feed's terms of use do not allow this kind of use, please tell us and we will remove it.

Corrections

When you change a story's headline, summary or picture in your feed, Newsdeck shows the corrected version the next time it reads the feed.
